Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain precise measured value at a high efficiency by measuring the deflection volume before and after the welding with a displacement measuring device attached to a stretch bar lengthwise with respect to long-sized welding material.
CONSTITUTION: As illustrated is the measurement of an I beam for bridges. The I beam having a flange is fitted with a stopper 3 projected therefrom. A stretch bar 4 almost the same in length as the I beam is engaged with the stopper 3 by a stopper engaging body 5 and equipped with a plurality of dial gauges 6. Prior to the welding, the dial gauge 6 is read to record the standard values and after the work, the stretch bar 4 is set again to obtain measured values. A difference between the measured values and the standard values is determined to calculate the amount of deflection. As no leveling string used as in the past is required, it ensures not only precise measuring but also high working efficiency.
