Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to use a miniature and inexpensive transformer and troidal coil for measurements of a high voltage and large current by insulating a high-tension side from a low-tension side by a photo transmitter circuit and then by obtaining power, needed for the high-tension side, from a bus line.
CONSTITUTION: The transformation output of iron-core current transformer 2 connected to bus 1 is inputted to the primary side of transformer by way of clipper circuit 3. Transformer 4 applies an alternating-current voltage across constant- voltage power supply 5. Troidal coil 6, on the other hand, induce a voltage equivalent to a bus current and its output is converted by integrating circuit 7 into an analog signal, which is further converted into a digital signal by A/D converter 8. Those integrating circuit 7 and A/D converter 8 are supplied with power from constant voltage power supply 5. Then, the output of A/D converter 8 is transmitted to D/A converter 10 at the low-tension side through light transmitter circuit 9 to insulate the high-tension side from the low-tension side. The output signal of D/A converter 10 is inputted to a current display unit by way of amplifier 11.
