Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the parallel driving acousto-optic element of easy setting of electrode pitch and fetching of lead wires by mounting the assembly comprising sandwiching insulators between metal plates on an ultrasonic wave medium by way of a transducer and bottom electrode.
CONSTITUTION: A bottom electrode DE is evaporated over the entire surface on top of an ultrasonic wave medium SM and one transducer TD is bonded thereon. The assembly comprising parallel placing plural metal plates MP1 thru MPn by leaving a specified spacing and sandwiching insulators IS1 thru ISn-1 between these is pressed and fixed onto the transducer TD, whereby the parallel driving acousto- optic element AO2 is constituted. The metal plates MP1 thru MPn serve both as top electrodes and lead wires and their bottom ends to be bonded to the transducer TD are formed on the top electrode area; in addition, the insulators IS1 thru ISn-1 are so formed that the spacings between the metal plates MP1 thru MPn become the specified spacings between the top electrodes and therefore the fetching of the lead wires may be readily accomplished.
