Abstract
PURPOSE:To roll high temperature blooms without cooling and obtain rolled steel materials by controlling the rates of cooling by the detected values such as of freezing thicknesses, bulging amounts and roll reactions of paired rolls within the draw- out guide unit of the casting blooms having been continuously cast and letting the freezing of the casting blooms be perfected within the heat retaining zone. CONSTITUTION:The casting bloom 6 being drawn out to the heat retaining zone by passing through the cooling zone consisting of plural cooling roll pairs 7, 8 groups is detected of respective values by the freezing thickness measuring unit 21, bulging quantity measuring unit 22, roll reaction measuring unit 23 provided in the cast bloom draw-out unit. These detected values are sent to a cooling control unit 20 via casting control unit 24. Thereby, the rates of cooling are so controlled that the freezing perfection point 6g of the cast bloom 6 is positioned within the heat retaining zone. The casting bloom 6a having perfected freezing is cut to specified sizes by a gas cutter 16, after which the cut billets are sent to a hot rolling process.
