PURPOSE:To simply manufacture high phosphor contained steel, by stirring molten steel blowing inactive gas from the tuyere of furnace bottom and reducing P2O5 in molten slag to P by adding reducing agent and then, returning P to the molten steel. CONSTITUTION:Steel is refined in the bottom-blown converter making pig iron containing about 0.1% of P as raw material. Oxygen blowing is stopped when aimed C content is obtained by decarbonizing reaction by oxygen blowing. During the above reaction, P is oxidized to P2O5 and P2O5 is moved in molten slag. Next, inactive gas, such as Ar etc., is blown from the tuyere of furnace bottom and molten steel and slag are stirred. At the same time, 1.5 times of chemically theoretical necessary quantity of reducing agent, such as Si etc., having larger affinity with oxygen than P, is added in the form of Fe-Si. P2O5 in the molten slag is reduced to P by Si and P is contained in the molten steel. High phosphor contained steel, such as weatherproof steel, free-cutting steel etc., is manufactured simply using cheap Fe-Si etc.
