Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain uncaking fine powder ammonium chloride without using a caking inhibitor by pulverizing ammonium chloride to an average particle diameter of 0.5W50μ followed by drying to a water content of 500ppm or less.
CONSTITUTION: Powder ammonium chloride with an average particle diameter of 100W300μ is pulverized to fine powder with an average particle diameter of 0.5W 50μ. This fine powder is then dried to a water content of 500ppm or less by a known drying means. When the water content of ammonium chloride is 500ppm or more, the effect of preventing caking of the chloride can not be shown. Inert gas heated to about 80°C is pref. used in a pulverization dryer. Thus, uncaking ammonium chloride is obtd. without using a caking inhibitor. Such chloride is not industrially produced yet.
