Abstract

PURPOSE: To precisely measure the flow rate of fluid to be measured for its correction without machining a pipe through which the fluid flows in a correcting flowmeter utilizing pig.
CONSTITUTION: Two standard positions of predetermined interval are set at the correcting line of a flowmeter. There are also provided magnetic circuit forming means 8, 8' opened oppositely in the pipe and provided with permanent magnet, and magnetic sensor 9, 9' at the outer periphery of the pipe line 1 at the standard positions. A pig 3 provided with a ferromagnetic unit crossing with the magnetic circuit is inserted into the pipe 1. The sensors 9, 9' detect the passage of the pig 3 through the standard positions to produce detection signals to thus measure the passage between the standard positions and to calculate the flow rate per unit time on the basis of the passing time of the pig 3.
