Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a photographing signal which has a dark-current noise component removed with high precision making the number of times of the transfer of transfer register more than the number of bits of the photographing signal obtained by a photoelectric conversion part.
CONSTITUTION: In the solid-state pickup unit CCD with the photoelectric conversion part accumulating charge equivalent to input light by photographing signal PG and the charge transfer register part transferring the charge, numbers (ϕ1) and (ϕ2) [transfer clock] of times of the transfer of the transfer register are set greater than the number of bits of photographing signal PG and a blank space of more than one bit is provided in addition to the transmission time of pickup data pulses, thereby obtaining a pulse signal with no pickup charge component. Synchronizing with signal PG, switch control circuit 25 controls switch 22 to lead the output of CCD, when containing a pickup component, to amplifier 19 and that with only the dark- current noise component to amplifier 20; and differential amplifier 23 subtracts the output of voltage holding circuit 21 from that of amplifier 19, so that a photographing signal with the dark-current noise component removed from the pickup component can be obtained.
