Abstract
PURPOSE: To decrease the diameter and thickness of a condenser as well as a light source for lighting and make possible original lighting of good efficiency by deviating the optical axis of the lighting area of the lighting optical system with respect to the optical axis of a projecting lens and narrowing the lighting region of the original part.
CONSTITUTION: In a Kohler's illumination method used at plural magnifications, the image of the filament 1a of a light source lamp 1 is formed as an image 11 to the pupil 10 of the film 3 side of a projecting lens 4 by a condenser 2. The effective image plane of the film 3 changes to a, b regions depending upon the variable magnifications thereof. Lighting the e region here makes possible lighting the a, b regions, thus reducing the lighting regions. Namely, the axis parallel to x1 at the center of the e area is let to be x2 and the optical axis of the condenser on the film side is let to be x3. Then, the luminous flux for lighting the abovementioned e region becomes maximum f region and the x2 being the central axis of the lighting region deviates with respect to the x1 being the optical axis of the projecting lens. Since the optical axis x3 of the condenser is disposed with a deviation as well, the outside diameter and central thickness of the condenser may be reduced.
