Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a cell of big capacity and light weight, operable at relatively low temperature, by applying Al for the negative pole active material, FeS2 for the positive pole active material and AlCl3-NaCl system melting salt for the electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:After a removal of water, HCl and impure metal salt included in AlCl3, with NaCl or KCl and pure Al wire added, a refined melting salt is obtained by processing a ventilation of N2 gas at 150 deg.C and used for electrolytic base. And for the negative pole are used Al plate, sintered Al plate, or Al wire, and for the positive pole, is used a material in which, with a prescribed amount of FeS2 powders placed on a current collector unit like Mo mesh and covered by quartz glass, further with its top covered by a basket like Mo mesh, FeS2 powders are fixed. With (II), (IV) chloride added in the melting salt, or (II), (IV) metal element in the negative pole, a precipitation of dendrite may be suppressed in the negative pole, and with a boride, carbide, sulfuret, etc. added to the positive pole, a conductivity may be made improved.
