Abstract

PURPOSE: To reliably eliminate the influences from a drift so that the flow rate can be measured in high accuracy by simultaneously measuring the propagation speeds in forward and backward directions with respect to the flow with the use of a plurality of transducers.
CONSTITUTION: A measuring circuit 25 measures the differences in the ultrasonic propagation time in the forward and backward directions between transducers TD 21 and 22. While the resultant output voltage VA is being fed to a terminal 29, a measuring circuit 26 measures the differences in the forward and backward ultrasonic proparation time between transducers TD 23 and 24 and feeds its output voltage VB to a terminal 33. The average value between the voltages VA and VB is calculated by an average circuit 34 and is fed out as the flow rate output. As a result, even if the drift component is timely varied, its influences can be eliminated without fail. Incidentally the forward and backward measuring periods are simultanously preset for the respective grouped transducers TD.
