Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:4-Alkylthio-3,5-diamino-α,α,α-trifluoromethylbenzene of formula I (R is alkyl).
EXAMPLE: 4-Methylthio-3, 5-diamino-α, α, α-trifluoromethylbenzene.
USE: Hardener for the manufacturing of polyurethane elastomer, which satisfies all conditions necessary as the hardener, has excellent handleability, and gives a polyurethane elastomer having high mechanical properties.
PROCESS: The objective compound I is prepared by reducing the compound III which is prepared either by (1) reacting a compound II (X is halogen) with a compound IV in the presence of an alkali metal hydroxide, or (2) reacting the compound X with a compound V (M is alkali metal) in a polar solvent thereby eliminating the halogen and introducing an alkylthio group to the compound.
