Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the device which does not cause connection defects by providing a light emitting element which emits light in synchronization with X-contact on the camera side and a photo detector which is triggered by the receipt of light on the strobe side and optically connecting both elements by a light guide through hermetic windows.
CONSTITUTION: An underwater camera 1 and an underwater strobe 2 are connected by a light guide 3. Both ends of the light guide 3 are terminals 4 which are fixed respectively to the camera 1 and strobe 2 by means of flanges 4a. The camera 1 and strobe 2 are hermetically closed by window glasses 7, behind which are provided a light emitting element 9 and a photo detector 10. When the light of the light emitting element 9 tuned to the X-contact of the shutter is received by the photo detector 10, the trigger circuit is triggered to cause the strobe to emit light. In this way, by changing the electrical connection which is liable to cause current leakage and connection defect in water to optical connection, the device which is free from connection defect is provided.
