Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce impact which is likely to occur on the stopping and starting of return of exhaust gas, by connecting a fuel passage to an outside fuel source and opening the passage into an air passage to raise the concentration of mixture.
CONSTITUTION: The air passage 13 is opened into the atmosphere through an orifice 12 and branched from an intake passage 3 at the downstream side of a throttle valve 5. The air passage 13 is fitted with a negative-pressure-responsible air control valve 15 which has a negative pressure chamber 14 connected to a negative pressure passage 7. The fuel passage 30 connected to the outside fuel source 29 such as a fuel tank located above the air passage 13 is opened into it so that a quantity of fuel depending on that of air conducted through the passage 13 is added to the air. Therefore, the concentration of the mixture conducted through the intake passage 3 is increased by the added fuel. This results in reducing the impact which is likely to occur on the stopping and starting of return of exhaust gas.
