Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure the surface velocity, by obtaining the reflected electromagnetic waves through the artificial wave formation on the free water surface such as rivers. CONSTITUTION:The unit consists of the electromagnetic wave speedometer 20 measuring the surface velocity of liquid by using the doppler effect of electromagnetic waves, wave forming unit 14 which forms the wave sources S1 and S2 by operating the wave forming reference circuit 17 when effective reflected waves can not be obtained and falling water through the drive of selection valve 16 from the water tank 15, and velocity operator 18 which selectively receives the reflected waves from the waves propagated from two different directions when selecting the sources S1 and S2 periodically and outputs the surface velocity V with the operation erasing the wave speed C from the two outputs by receiving the output of the speedometer 20 outputting the surface speed of respective directions.
