Abstract

PURPOSE: To deodorize waste gas effectively at low cost by washing the waste gas with sodium hypochlorite solution and simultaneously carrying out catalytic oxidation treatment and then catalytically treating it with catalytic oxidation catalyst- activated carbon.
CONSTITUTION: Feed gas supplied from a conduit 1 is introduced through a pressure fan 2 and a conduit 3 into a pre-washing tower 4 where the waste gas is pre- washed with a washing containing residual sodium hypochlorite discharged from catalytic oxidation catalyst 5 such as nickel oxide and a main washing tower 7. Then, the waste gas is introduced into the main washing tower 7 containing catalyst bed 8 such as nickel oxide where the waste gas is washed with sodium hypochlorite solution supplied via a conduit 17 from a reservoir tank 14 and simultaneously catalytically oxidized and bad smelling components are removed effectively. The waste gas is passed through a conduit 9 and a packed layer 9 consisiting of catalytic oxidation catalyst or the catalytic oxidation catalyst-activated carbon to deodorize completly, and discharged through a conduit 12 from the process line.
