Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase resolution by simplifying the illumination of an original by arranging a non-crystalline array over float glass and then by forming the image of light reflected by the original on the photosensor array through a cell hook lens.
CONSTITUTION: Float glass 11 is mounted on orignal 12 and a gap between cell hook lens 21 and the original surface is held constant to illuminate the original easily. At one edge of glass 11, died rod 13 is provided rotatably and sensor 15 is engaged with rod 13. Over sensor 15, driving part 16 is provided which moves photosensor array 23 in main-scanning direction M and rod 13 is turned by motor 19 to move sensor 15 in sub-scanning direction S. Light source 20 illuminates original 12 via glass 11 and light reflected by original 12 is image-formed on non-crystalline photosensor array 23 via lens 21.
