Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a transfer product of fresh color tone and high rigidity by forming on a substrate sheet, such as (processed) paper and cellophane, a layer including a binder and a colorant poor in thermal transfer property and then a layer including a binder and an alkali agent for enhancing the thermal transfer property.
CONSTITUTION: Layers described below are sequentially formed on a substrate sheet made of (processed) paper, cellophane, synthetic resin film, or the like. First, a single- or multi-color pattern is formed by use of an ink or paint composition consisting mainly of a binder (e.g. ethyl cellulose) and a colorant poor in thermal transfer property (e.g. basic dye). On the first layer is coated a composition consisting mainly of a binder and an alkali agent (e.g. NaOH). This constitution enables the colorants which have rarely been used to be applicable to sublimation transfer process, and broadens the range of use of substrate onto which patterns are transfered.
