Abstract

PURPOSE: To make manufacturing easy and enhance reliability by constituting the distributor with a one-demensional focusing type optical transmission body which has the refractive index distributions reducing in proportion to the square of distances, a reflecting surface which consists of plural two-dimensional curved faces and 3 or more optical fibers.
CONSTITUTION: The end parts of an incident optical fiber 21 and exit optical fibers 22 thru 25 are installed to the incident end face 11 of the one-dimensional focusing optical transmission body 1 which has refractive index distributions decreasing in proportion nearly to the square of distances from the center toward the periphery only in the y-direction. Partial cylindrical columns 3 thru 6 are bonded and fixed to the exit end face 12 thereof in such a manner that the central axes thereof become parallel to the y-axis. A reflecting film 6 composed of two-dimensional curved faces is formed on their surfaces. The incident light beam 31 from the incident optical fiber 21 is focused in the y-direction, is reflected by the reflecting film 60 of the partial cylindrical columns 3 thur 6 and enters the original one- dimensional focusing type optical transmission body 1, where it becomes distributed light beams 32 thru 35 which will then enter the exit optical fibers 22 thru 25 respectively.
