Abstract

PURPOSE:To develop the sound field which is approximate to that of the 4-channel stereo by compounding the rear right-left signal tones with the front right-left signals through the equalizer performing the simulation and the delay circuit. CONSTITUTION:Rear left signal LB, front left signal LF, front right signal RF and rear left signal RB are supplied to terminals 1-4 each. The LF and RF supplied to terminals 2 and 3 are supplied directly to compounding units 7 and 8. The LB supplied to terminal 1 is supplied partially to unit 7 after passing through equalizer 10 which simulates the frequency characteristics when the sound wave reaches the human ears from the back part. The other signals are supplied in the opposite phases each other to the compounding unit through equalizer 10 which simulates the frequency characteristics when the sound of the left speaker reaches in diffraction the right ear plus delay circuit 11 which simulates the arrival time difference of the sound of the left speaker each. The RB supplied to terminal 4 receives the similar process. Then the left and right signals are delivered through terminals 5 and 6.
