Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform stable demodulation and also to reduce lead switches by one by automatically alternating between stereophonic operation and different-king program operation according to the existence of a sub-channel signal and the output of a lead filter. CONSTITUTION:Only one lead filter 15 is used here. In case of stereophonic broadcase, a pilot signal of 55.125 KHz is detected 13 from the output of FM detection 5 and then AM-detected 14, and filter 15 extracts a signal of 982.5 Hz, thereby putting changeover circuit 10 into stereophonic operation by switching via Schmitt circuit 16. For the reception of different program broadcast, the output of detection circuit 14 is removed by filter 15 because its frequency is 922.5 Hz and circuit 16 will not operated. Therefore, stereophonic switching signal is not generated and gate circuit 11 is ON; and Schmitt circuit 12 operates on receiving a signal of the sub- channel band from BPF8 to put circuit 10 into different-program operation, thereby obtaining a signal with the sub-channel FM-detected 9.
