PURPOSE:To enable the 1st local oscillation circuit for VHF to serve as a UHF local oscillation circuit by setting the 1st video intermediate frequency of VHF to an appropriate value. CONSTITUTION:In VHF signal reception, a signal obtained through filter 17 and a local oscillation signal from local oscillation circuit 22 corresponding to a selected channel are mixed 21 so as to obtain a signal of the 1st video intermediate frequency higher than the VHF band and lower than the UHF band. Then, the 1st video intermediate frequency signal and a signal of a fixed frequency from local oscillation circuit 25 are mixed 24 to obtain a signal of the 2nd video intermediate frequency signal. In UHF signal reception, a signal obtained through filter 18 and the oscillation signal from circuit 22 equivalent to the selected channel are mixed 21 to obtain a video intermediate frequency signal of the 2nd video intermediate frequency. Consequently, only one variable frequency oscillation circuit is needed for the local oscillation circuit.
