Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a humidity sensitive element superior in resistance characteristic, response characteristic, pollution-proof property, etc., by using a resin, which has an ion exchange property and a proper hydrophobic property, as an element film.
CONSTITUTION: The copolymer consisting of hydrophobic monomer (a) such as vinyl chloride and styrene of approximately 70 to 99 moles % and monomer (b) having an ion exchange capability such as (meta)acrylic acid and maleic acid of approximately 1 to 30 moles % is dissolved in a solvent such as cyclohexane and tetrahydrofuran, and this solution is applied to the electrode part of an element to form a film having a thickness below approximately 3μ, thereby forming a humidity sensitive element.
