Abstract

PURPOSE: To cause a ship to be sailed against a stream without any power, by means of winding up a rope by a winding drum of the ship, the drum being drived by the flow of the river by wedging the engaging tool of the top end of the rope into the flow.
CONSTITUTION: Two winding drums 3a, 3b are installed on a ship 1, and ropes 4 connected to each engaging tools 5a, 5b are to be able to be wound. A driving axis 10 of the winding drums 3a, 3b are connected to a propeller 16 via a speed change gear 15. The ship drives the engaging tool 5a toward the front direction, and drives the winding drum 3a by the generating torque of the propeller 16 rotated by the flow, thereby the ship 1 is propelled toward the front direction, as a supporting point in the engaging tool 5a.
