Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a high solid coating composition giving a coating film having excellent chemical resistance, weather resistance, hardness, etc., by compounding a mixture of a specific acrylic resin and a nonaqueous dispersion resin composition with a specific amino-formaldehyde resin.
CONSTITUTION: A high solid coating composition essentially comprising (A) a mixture consisting of (a) 20W95wt.% (solid content) of an acrylic resin having a glass transition temperature of -25°CW-60°C, a hydroxyl value of 60W200 and a number average molecular weight of 10,000W30,000, and prepared by (co)- polymerizing one or more (meth)acrylic acid esters having 1W12C alkyl groups (at least one of them has a hydroxyl group), and (b)80W5wt.% (resin solid content) of a nonaqueous dispersion resin composition of an acrylic polymer, etc., and (B) an amino-formaldehyde resin etherified with a 1W4C monohydric alcohol, wherein the amount of (A) is 50W90 parts by weight on the basis of 100 parts by weight of (A)+(B).
