Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the dynamic range to the quantity of the incident rays without increasing the scale of the reading register by providing one or several units of the split electrode at the photoelectric conversion region.
CONSTITUTION: The one-dimentional solid state pickup device consists of photoelectric conversion element rows 21∼25 separated from each other via channel stop region 26, phase shift gate 27 to shift the signal charge flux received the photoelectric conversion to reading register 28, and register 28 each. Signal split gates 29∼32 are formed preferably by the transparent electrodes and feature the MOS structure for each photoelectric conversion element row.
