Abstract

PURPOSE: To substantially increase the sensitivity of reactive type dry type silver salt material, give sharp-contoured images of good contrast and reduce the time necessary for obtaining visible images by cooling the preheated portions prior to exposure.
CONSTITUTION: The dry type silver salt photographic material composed of an organic silver salt oxidizing agent such as silver behenate, a reducing agent for Ag+ such as substituted phenols and photosensitive silver halide is preheated to 80 to 130°C for the purpose of imparting photosensitivity. Next, at least the preheated portions are force-cooled down to preferably 60°C or under, after which they are exposed. The latent images formed through exposure are heat-developed, whereby the images are obtained.
