Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title parts having excellent adhesiveness, toughness and wear proof even by thickening the covering layer consisting of either one or both two kinds of W and WC. CONSTITUTION:Before forming W and/or WC on the surface of tool parts as covering layer, adhesiveness is reinforced by interposing titanium carbide layer of 0.1-30mum as an intermediate layer. In the experiment as proved for an example, toughness and abrasion resistance were remarkably improved by forming covering layer with one or two of fluorine and chlorine of 0.1-0.5at.wt%. In this case, even if the layer thickness is 5-1000mum, grain growth is restricted and a stabilized cover layer is available.
