Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain faster wire extending speed and longer service life of die by applying forced cooling on the blank material drawn from die under the medium of high pressurized lubricant directly with coolant existing within the cooling cylinder being installed at the exit of die.
CONSTITUTION: The lubricant adheres on the surface of the blank wire material A which passes after being supplied thru the port 4" into the slit part 4' having a diameter a little larger than the slit 4 existing at the port side of the inlet tube 2, and the said lubricant being sealed within the inlet tube 2 generates high pressure at the inlet port part of the die 1. Because the solid drawing and wire extension are performed by the die 1 utilizing the highly pressured lubricant, generation of friction and the rise of temperature of the blank wire material are decreased. At the outlet port of the die 1, a series of cooling cylinders 7 are concentrically installed and the coolant supplied from the supply port 10 circulates thru the tube 2 which is established within the die cases 11, 12 and around the die 1, enters into the cooling cylinder 7 from backside of the die, and is discharged out from the exhaust port 9. In addition, flow-out of the coolant is intercepted by sealing the exit port side of the cooling cylinder 7 with air coming out from the supply port 8.
