Abstract
PURPOSE:To form roll cooling equipment capable of applying to the roll of any sized diameter by holding a plurality of cooling pad, being divided to the circumferential derection, with a shaft disposed rockably in parallel with the roll shaft. CONSTITUTION:In the mechanism, blanket 11 is fixedly attached on the piston rod 4 of the fluid pressure cylinder 3, and the blandet 11 supports rockably a plurality of cooling pad 13 (e.g. two) at the shaft 12 which is parallel with the roll shaft 1. Cooling fluid is flown from a to the passage 7, passing the locket 9, and while the fluid is cooling the roll, it is discharged to the direction of arrow b thru the clearance 10. By dividing the cooling pad 13 into two, contact length between each pad 13 and the roll 1 becomes approx. 1/2, accordingly, while the conventional non-divided pad can endure its usage to the extent of + or -5% of the roll diameter variation, the newly divided cooling pad can endure the usage up to the allowance of + or - 12%.
