Abstract

PURPOSE: To fix a basic structure consisting of lower and upper structure members to upright piles fixed to the ground by mooring the basic structure on the sea, sinking the lower structure member, and guiding the basic structure along the piles to locate the structure above the surface of the water.
CONSTITUTION: A basic structure 5 comprises guide cylinders 2 made of steel pipes and extended upright from four corners of a lower structure member 1, a cap 4 and a box-like upper structure 3 movable up and down along the cylinders 2. The member 1 is provided with a water injection/draining device. The basic structure 5 is moored roughly at the object site by casting the anchor 12 to the seabed 11 and winding up a chain or rope 14 by the winch 13. Then water is injected into the member 1 to sink it. Upright piles 14 made of steel pipes are lowered through the cylinders 2 and driven into the ground 17.
