Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit the fixation of treating agent at desired position by utilizing a matrix coagulation of a polysaccharide-based composition having beta-1, 3-bond at the main bond in treating web with various treating agents.
CONSTITUTION: When treating a bounced fiber-like fibrous web with a binder, treating paper or wood fiber cloth with a coloring agent or a filler, or treating unwoven fabric, plastic foam, or metal plate with a film-forming agent, the treated object is treated with a treating agent composed of aqueous sloution of a polysccharide with beta-1,3 bond as the main bond in order to fix the treating agent, etc., on an object such as fiber, paper, etc., for avoiding its loosening at subsequent process. The treating agent is applied to treated web by impregnating method, printing method, or coating method, then heated to convert the aqueous composition to jelly-like substance, and then dried to secure its strong fixation ot web.
