Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible the use of a pechant prism of a long optical length by disposing a negative lens as a correcting lens in front of the prism in a telescope using an interchangeable lens for single-lens reflect cameras as an objective lens.
CONSTITUTION: A negative lens of a focal length fc consisting of a single lens or cemented lens is disposed as a correcting lens in front of a prism to move the imaging point by the objective lens backward, by which the use of a pechant prism P of a relatively long optical path length is made possible. Where the focal length of the eyepiece lens part E backward of the prism P is let fE, the conditions of formulas (1), (2) are satisfied. The use of the pechant prism under such conditions becomes feasible and it becomes also possible to place the optical axes of the objective lens and eyepiece lens of the same straight line.
