Abstract

PURPOSE: To take up the title yarn having very great uniformity and improved low-temperature setting preperties and processability, by melt spinning and taking off a nylon 6 multifilament yarn under specific conditons.
CONSTITUTION: Nylon 6 is melt spun into a multifilament yarn of fineness per filament 2W10de, which is almost completely oriented between the spinneret 1 and the oiling unit 4. The yarn is passed through the cooling stack 2, and cooled by a gas out of contact, and immediately oiled by an agent comprising 80wt% or more of water at a distance Y from the spinneret 1 of 3.5W6.5m, and bundled. The total yarn bending angles θ123 of 6W25 degrees, preferably 9W18 degrees, prevents the lowering of the stability and uniformity, and frequent broken filaments. The yarn unevenness can be prevented by stretching the yarn between the first and second godet rolls at a ratio ≤ 20% within 0.03sec. after oiling.
