Abstract

PURPOSE: To electrodeposit a nickel cobalt alloy of high hardness, high abrasion durability and high flexibility by using an electrodepositing bath whose pH is kept in a particular range by adding saccharin and formalin to a sulfuric acid bath including nickel sulfate, Co ions, boric acid and Cl-.
CONSTITUTION: An electrodepositing bath is prepared by adding 1W5 g/l saccharin and 0.2W0.8 cc/l formalin to a sulfuric acid bath including nickel sulfate, Co ions (Example; CoCl2), boric acid and Cl-(Example; NaCl). Adjusting the pH of this electrodepositing bath to 4.8W6.0 and keeping the bath at 40W60°C, a nickel cobalt alloy is electrodeposited under a current density range 3W20 A/dm2. And it is preferable to keep the electrodepositing bath uniform by agitating it by air agitation or mechanical agitation during electrolysis. In addition to said properties, this nickel cobalt alloy has a smooth and bright surface and is suitable for the outer balde of an electric razor, etc.
