Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform stable heating of cathode through constant power control.
CONSTITUTION: Cathode 21 is held between the heat generating members 22 composed of pyloritic graphite. Cathode heating power source 23 is connected across said member 22. The computor 28 calculates the power consumption from the voltage and current applied on said member 22 to calculate the error from the preset value thus to produce signal corresponding with the correction current. The power source 23 receives signal from the computor 28 to correct the current to heat generating member 22. Consequently the power consumption of heat generating member 22 is continuously maintained to the setting level.
