Abstract
PURPOSE: To automatically let rise and fall in large depth width an underwater towed body that is hung in water from a ship and uses a cable towed by means of the ship as a guide cable, in this automatic lifting gear of the underwater towed body.
CONSTITUTION: An underwater towed body 1 is formed by bodies 1', 1", an elevator 2 mounted to these bodies 1', 1" by means of a shaft 13 and a hydrofoil 3 connecting the bodies 1', 1", and fins 4 are installed to the bodies 1', 1" as necessary. Thus, the towed body 1 generates lift by relative speed with circumferential water, and can change the dimensions and direction of lift by operating the elevator 2. A cable guide means 5 is mounted to a connecting rod 4' connected to the bodies 1', 1" or directly installed to the hydrofoil 3, and the towed body 1 is towed under a condition that a cable 6 is pierced into the means 5. Upper and lower stoppers 8, 9 are disposed to the cable 6, and the towed body 1 is let rise and fall between the stoppers.
