Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable position adjustment of the focusing type waveguide lens and optical fiber to be readily accomplished by forming a photosensitivie film on one end face of the focusing type waveguide lens and entering the reference light from the facial light source of the specified shape from the other end face.
CONSTITUTION: First, a photosensitive film 15 is formed on one end face of a focusing type waveguide lens 14 which becomes target and this is set to an optical system 10. A lamp 11 is lighted to let the image of an opening 12, i.e., the image of a facial light spot, be formed on the photosensitive film 15 by which said film is sensitized. Next, this lens 14 is removed from the optical system 10 and the portions which were not sensitized are removed from the photosensitive film 15 through developing, then the axial aligning marker 16 remains on the imaged portion. Since this marker is positioned at the center of the focusing type waveguide lens 14 with respect to reference light, an optical fiber is aligned to this marker 16 and is fixed by coating adhesive agents.
