Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a parts feeding apparatus, in which a plurality of parts detectors are provided along the length of chute for detecting presence of parts at each instant or within a certain continuous time period, and signals corresponding to the outputs of said parts detectors are produced for controlling the operation of parts feeder.

CONSTITUTION: Parts 3 delivered from parts feeder 1 are successively fed into chute 2. When the parts 3 come to the position of a third parts detector 5C after passing through a first and a second parts detectors 5A, 5B, signals are afforded to parts feeder 1 for controlling the parts feeding speed to a medium or a low speed or otherwise for temporarily stopping the feeding of parts 3. On the other hand, when the number of parts 3 in the chute 2 is reduced to such an extent that there is no parts 3 at the position of the first parts detector 5A, operation restricting signals from detector 5A are removed, whereupon parts feeder 1 recommences feeding of parts 3 at a low speed. The above procedures are repeated automatically.
