Abstract

PURPOSE: To recover a hydrogen fluoride-boron trifluoride catalyst with good efficiency by bringing a hydrocarbon layer containing hydrogen fluoride, boron trifluoride, and hydrocarbons, separated from a liquid reaction product, into contact with a liquid oil containing hydrogen fluoride.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid reaction product drawn out of the isomerization reactor 2 is sent to the separating tank 4 to separate it into a hydrocarbon layer and a catalyst layer. The hydrocarbon layer is sent through the path 6 to the bottom of the extracting tower 7 to direct it upwards in the tower 7, and also the catalyst layer is sent through the path 8 to the reactor 2 and/or sent through the path 9 to the separating tower 10. The hydrogen fluoride-high boiling product mixture from the bottom of the separating tower 7 is treated in the distilling column 17, and the liquid hydrogen fluoride separated is flowed down from the top of the extracting tower 7. The extract from the bottom of the tower 7 is sent with the catalyst layer from the path 9 into the separating tower 10 through the path 25. The extraction rate of the hydrogen trifluoride from the hydrocarbon layer is usually 60% or more.
