Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the liquid crystal display element of less coloring and superior transparency by using the polyimide film which uses bis(aminophenoxy)diphenyl compound as the amino component of polyimide, as an orientation film.
CONSTITUTION: The polyimide-base polymer resin film layer expressed by formula (X is O, CO, CH2, S, Y is tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride residue) is formed on a substrate having conductive film. It is recommended to use the substrate having the film of SiO2 or the like having no ions of Na, etc. to prevent the thermal deterioration of polyimide from being accelerated. The film is formed by coating the solution of the precursor of polyimide and ring closure with heating. After the formation of the film, it is subjected to orientation treatment, followed by printing glass frit at the periphery of the substrate, and firing the same through heating, thereby forming the element. At this heating, this polyimide film is superior in heat resistance and therefore colors less and does not cause any orientation defect, hence it is perfectly sealed and the display device of superior transparency is obtained.
