Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a scale and a pointer from being dislocated according to the direction in which they are viewed by a constitution wherein a scale is formed solidly with an optical display constituting a pointer display unit, and the scale is used for time display at the same time.
CONSTITUTION: A segment electrode 27 with 60 electrodes and a common electrode 28 divided into 6 for outside, middle side and inside are provided on a liquid crystal display. Minute is displayed by the segment electrode 27 and an opposite common electrode 28a, and hour is dispalyed by the segment electrode 27 and opposite common electrodes 28a, 28b. A non-lighting state of one display is shifted in sequence in the segment electrode and a common electrode 28d to display second.
