Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the production efficiency of a popsicle dispenser having a pair of parallelly disposed freezing cylinders, by furnishing a device capable of detecting the hardness of the popsicle in each cylinder separately, controlling the freezing operation of the cylinders independently, and thawing the content of each cylinder separately.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of parallelly disposed freezing cylinders 5, 5 of a multi- cylinder popsicle dispenser are charged with a raw material of popsicle, e.g. syrup, from a tank 6, and the syrup is frozen to popsicles with coolant circulated with an electrical compressor. When the frozen popsicle becomes rough to the tongue by the growth of ice crystals, it is thawed with hot gas, and frozen again. The above operations are controlled with a limit switch 14 which detects the hardness of the contents in the cylinders 5, 5 separately and controls the freezing of each cylinder. The thawing of a cylinder is carried out only when the freezing operation of the other cylinder is stopped by the limit switch 14, thereby preventing the troubles in the operation of the freezing cylinders 5, 5.
