Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the O3 generation efficiency of an ozonizer by setting a spacer in the inwardly protruding recess of a low voltage electrode to maintain a discharge gap uniform and burying metal foil as a high voltage electrode in a platelike dielectric.
CONSTITUTION: Low voltage electrode 7 is a hollow body obtd. by joining two dish-form low voltage electrode pieces 8A, 8B to each other, and spacer 19 almost equal to recess 10 in sectional form is bonded to rib-pressed recess 10 with adhesive 20. On the other hand, metal foil 14 such as perforated Al foil as a high voltage electrode is buried in dielectric 15, and lead conductor 16 of foil 14 is pulled out of one side of dielectric 15. Beltlike spacers 18 of the same quality are bonded to both faces of an upper side edge portion and a lower side edge portion of dielectric 15, and strengthening plates 16A made of dielectric are attached to both faces of conductor 16. By this construction the discharge gap can be maintained uniform even if there is a little dimensional strain in the electrodes and the dielectric, and the discharge section is made structurally firm to enhance the O3 generation efficiency. In addition, the lead conductor of the high voltage electrode can be strengthened assuredly.
