Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a selective permeable membrane which is excellent in penetrating power and selectivity and resists against an organic solvent by a method wherein a dope containing a condensation polymer is applied on a supporting base material, then, a solvent on a surface layer of the dope is evaporated by means of heat treatment for a short time, and the material is steeped in a steeping solvent and water. CONSTITUTION:A dope is manufactured in such a manner that a condensation polymer, such as a polyimide group polymer, etc. is dissolved in a nonproton organic solvent having a high boiling point, such as N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, etc. The dope is applied on a supporting base material, and the material is heat-treated with a hot air, etc. with a temperature to the extent that the organic solvent is not boiled. The material is steeped in the second organic solvent, such as fatty monovalent alcohol, etc. with 1-5 carbon number compatible with the organic solvent and water, and further steeped in water, and a selective permeable membrane is obtained. The membrane having superior selectivity and penetrating power, is hard to be consolidated, and is excellent in a resisting property against an organic solvent.
