Abstract

PURPOSE: To align and convey a plurality of articles such as cylinders like cans carried over a plurality of round belts by aligning a number of endless round belts and driving them at different speeds.
CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for automatically aligning cylinders such as cans consists of a number of round belt groups B, C aligned in parallel, which are driven at different speeds. The respective belt groups B, C consist of round belts B1, B2 and C1, C2. These belts are bridged over large and small diameter portions 22 and 23 of pulleys 9a, 9b. When a can 41 is disposed laterally, it is placed over a plurality of belt groups, and longitudinally aligned and moved forward due to the speed difference of the respective belts. Even if the can 41 is directed not only in lateral direction but also in any other direction, it is automatically efficiently aligned due to the difference of the frictions of the belts therewith.
