Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent occurrence of streaks on a rolled material by adding a small amount of one or more among Ni, Co and V to an Al alloy for rolling contg. Fe and one or more among Si, Mg and Cu and further contg. Mn, Cr, Ti, etc.
CONSTITUTION: An Al alloy for rolling contg. one or more among Si; 0.05W1.0%, Mg; 0.1W3.0% and Cu; 0.05W0.5% other than Fe; 0.1W1.0% and further contg. Mn, Cr and Ti each<0.3% forms Al-Fe type intermetallic compounds such as FeAl3 and FeAl6 when cast into an ingot. These compounds are different from other portion in electrochemical properties, so difference in etching and anodically oxidizing characteristics occur between them, forming a fir tree pattern. By adding one or more among Ni, Co and V; 0.01W0.2% in total to the Al alloy formation of a fir tree structure is prevented, and occurrence of streaks on a rolled plate due to the fir tree pattern is prevented.
