Abstract
PURPOSE: To minimize an error in the range from low speed to high speed and to reduce a detection time by measuring a time of one pulse interval of the speed sensor in the low speed side and by measuring the total time among many pulses as the speed is increased.
CONSTITUTION: When the speed detection for the vehicle is started, a microcomputer 1 is made perform an interruption processing by the rise of pulse from the speed sensor 4, and the counted value of the free running counter 2 at the time is stored in the memory M1. Similarly the counted values are stored in the memory M2, M3 and M4 in turn, and after storing the value in the X-th memory Mx, it is done in the first memory M1 again by the next pulse. When the car speed detection is performed, the difference between the last value stored in the memory at the time and the last value but one is taken, it is decided which pulse interval that contains one data can be used according to the value, and the speed of the vehicle can be given by obtaining the time interval among the fixed number of pulses.
