PURPOSE:To produce a foamed article with skin whose surface is smooth and whose thickness is uniform by a method wherein foaming stylene particles are filled in a cavity of a mold, heated and made to foam and the surface of the foam molding obtained is heated and fused. CONSTITUTION:Foaming stylene resin particles are filled by a filling device 6 nearly excessively into the cavity 3 between molds formed by closing a male mold 1 and a femal one 2 having check valves 4 on the space between the molds. Then, the steam with pressures of 0.8-1.5kg/cm<2> is introduced in the cavity 3 for 3-15sec through passages 43 of the check valves 4, resin particles are made to foam to form a foamed molding and close the gap between a mover 41 and a small piece 42. Then, high pressure steam of 3.0kg or more is introduced into the space made between the inner and the outer wall of the molds 1, 2, the surface layer of the foamed molding is heated, fused and then cooled by cooling water guided through a pipe 10 and an external skin is formed on the surface of the foamed molding.
