Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the easy and sure transfer of toners to various desired recording members by letting the toners having the charge distributions according to pattern signals contact a tranfer medium to be once tranferred thereto then transferring the same to the recording medium in contact with the transfer medium. CONSTITUTION:The material of a doctor 3 which forms an even layer of toners T on the peripheral surface of a donor 1 is made conductive and since negative charge is injected into the toners T from the doctor 3, the even layer of the negatively charged toners is formed on the peripheral surface of the donor 1. As the donor 1 turns, the layer of the negatively charged toners contacts a multistylus electrode 4 and the pattern signals are applied to the multistylus electrode 4 by way of a recording electric power source 4, whereby the charge distributions of the toners corresponding to the pattern signals I are obtained on the peripheral surface of the donors 1. The positively charged toners constituting the image patterns are once transferred from the donor 1 onto a transfer belt 612, then they are transferred onto an iron plate 81 as a recording member in contact with the transfer belt 612.
